Two Merriweather

While  Columbia has been open for business for years, the scheduled opening of Two Merriweather in Downtown’s new Merriweather District in the fall of 2017 will allow more businesses to find a home in what Money Magazine’s touts the ‘Best Place To Live in America’. Surely, it won’t be long till Columbia is officially recognized as one of the best places to work in the country, as well.

Containing 130,000 square-feet, the new building will be slightly smaller than its sister building, One Merriweather, which opened in late 2016 as the headquarters for Medstar Health. Two Merriweather will feature:

  • 135k sq ft. of mixed use, LEED-certified space
  • Five floors with 25k sq. ft. per floor
  • Flexible floor plates and move-in-ready spaces

Both buildings take advantage of the new 1,200 space parking structure built at the time One Merriweather was constructed.

Two Merriweather will become a regional headquarters for Pearson Education. Like One Merriweather, it will feature street level retail. Howard Hughes Corporation, the master developer for Downtown Columbia, will invest 41 million in the construction of the building.

Located ideally at the corner or Little Patuxent Parkway and Brokenland Parkway, future businesses will find they have picked a perfect location to set up shop in a ‘best place to work in America’.
